WASHINGTON--Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt today issued the following statement regarding news that the unemployment rate hit 10.2 percent:
"While Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid remain singularly focused on a government-takeover of health care, another 190,000 jobs have been lost.
"And while President Obama told us that the failed stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent, more than 10 percent of Americans are unemployed. And a new government-run health care system funded on the backs of small businesses is the last thing we need to do.
"Every job lost is a family crisis. Small businesses will be the engine of our recovery if government will get out of the way and let them create good jobs."
